Heat-detection-track-a-cow -ENGS’s innovative Track A))) Cow system, is a unique solution which combines state of the art technology with unique benefits to assist in enhance the heat detection process along with cow’s welfare status.
Track A))) Cow’s Long Range Pedometer (LRP) technology uses 433MHz ultra long-range radio, which is freely available around the world (ISM band). This enables frequent, real-time data transfer, thus providing more timely information than any competing system.

ENGS’s LRP technology provides advanced, high-resolution activity measurement with continuous indicators for animal posture – lying or standing. These features enable highly accurate heat detection and possible health and welfare early warning signs enabling you to deal with them before they evolve.

The Track A))) Cow installation is easy and simple, covering a range of up to 2000m, enabling highly effective heat detection of grazing and non grazing cows, as well as heifers in any type of farm, including free stall, robot, stanchion barns, open pastures etc. regardless of milking procedures’ existence or technique.
The Track A))) Cow system can be integrated with existing herd management systems and provides additional features for cow identification.
Higher resolution►Accurate timely data►Better heat detection/better health monitoring► Improved pregnancy rates/improved cow welfare-Heat-detection-track-a-cow
  • 24/7 monitoring – anytime, anywhere
  • Ideal for use with heifers
  • Eliminates physical bottlenecks caused by the readers or gates
  • Reduces the need for additional manpower
  • Cow activity information updated every few minutes – Real-time telemetry
  • Uninfluenced by irregular milking sessions (robot milking)

How does Track a))) Cow work?

The innovative Track a))) Cow system is a unique solution which combines state of the art technology with unique benefits to assist in enhancing the heat detection process along with the animal’s welfare status.

Track a))) Cow’s long range technology uses 433MHz ultra long-range radio frequency which is readily available, reducing the chance to interfere with other equipment on the farm. This allows frequent, real-time data transfer, providing more timely information than any other system.

Track a))) Cow’s transmissions are received by antennas mounted in the animal housing area allowing for data collection 24 hours a day. This means you don’t have to wait for animals to go through the parlor to receive their activity information. This also allows for monitoring of both cows and heifers with one receiving unit.

Track a))) Cow’s Ecoherd software then downloads the information to the computer to be analyzed and put into reports for farm employees to utilize.

What is the range of the Track a))) Cow tags?

With multiple options of antennas the Track a))) Cow system can achieve distances of over one mile. In most free-stall type set-ups a radial antenna would be installed that has a reading distance of over 500ft. In a pasture based set-up a directional antenna would be implemented allowing for readings from over 1 mile away.

What is the expected life of the Track a))) Cow tag?

Because of the small size and the fact that the tag is completely sealed, the durability and life expectancy of the Track a))) Cow tag is increased. There is a 5 year prorated warranty on the Track a))) Cow tag and the life expectancy is 7 – 10 years.

How long will the installation and implementation of the Track a))) Cow system take?

The installation process of the Track a))) Cow System can be done quite rapidly, usually in less than 2 hours. Installation consists of mounting and wiring a receiver and antenna in the housing area of the animals and installing the Ecoherd software program onto the farm computer. This rapid installation causes less interruption to the daily routine on your dairy. Once tags are placed on the animal, the data transmission and recording is initiated allowing for the baseline to be developed and in-heat activity reports to be generated.

Will the Track a))) Cow system interface with my current herd management software?

Currently Track a))) Cow does interface with DairyComp 305 and synchronization with other software systems is being developed.

Are there maintenance costs associated with the Track a))) Cow tag or system?

The Track a))) Cow system is maintenance free. Because the tag is completely sealed there are no replaceable batteries to maintain or purchase. All software updates are included in the purchase price of the system and there are no licensing fees associated with the software.

How many Track a))) Cow tags will I need for my herd?

The best way to use the Track a))) Cow system is to attach the tags on breeding animals about a month before you would expect to breed them. The system requires a 7 day baseline to be developed before breeding lists will be generated, but by identifying early heats the estrous activity of animals can be more easily recognized. After pregnancy confirmation the tags are removed and switched to a new animal. Depending on current pregnancy confirmation protocols and level of early term abortions, tags are removed either at the first pregnancy confirmation or at a later re-confirmation. With this level of tag usage usually about 50% of the milking herd will have tags on at any time.

What is the cost for the Track a))) Cow system for my dairy?

Because of variables on every farm a simple walk-through and evaluation is needed before a cost can be established for a dairy. Please contact a Track a))) Cow representative at 0710750089
